Toyota Tundra Lift Kits: Check TRD Pro, AVS and Rear Air Ride
The 2022–2026 Tundra has lift kits whose fit depends on factory suspension equipment. TRD Pro, Adaptive Variable Suspension and rear load-leveling air suspension can exclude otherwise similar systems.
The current-generation Tundra has three recurring exclusion checks
Rough Country’s current 3.5-inch and 6-inch Tundra systems both exclude TRD Pro, Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and Toyota’s load-leveling rear air suspension. BDS’s current 2-inch leveling kit likewise excludes TRD Pro and AVS, and also lists the XSP-X package as unsupported.
These factory systems change the starting suspension enough that a generic 2022–2026 Tundra product title should never be treated as universal coverage.

3.5 inches and 6 inches are very different installation paths
Rough Country describes its 3.5-inch system as a bolt-on setup and publishes no cutting or drilling for that application. The 6-inch system explicitly requires cutting and drilling and moves into a larger suspension-repositioning category.
The 6-inch page also warns that Toyota Safety Sense recalibration may be required after installation. That extra system impact belongs in the comparison before choosing the taller option.
Identify the factory suspension before comparing lift height
Start with the truck as it left Toyota, not just the year and model shown in a shopping title. Confirm whether the Tundra is a TRD Pro, whether it has AVS, and whether the rear suspension uses the factory load-leveling air system. Those checks can remove an otherwise attractive kit from consideration before price, shock choice or tire size matters.
If the truck has already been modified, compare the installed suspension parts against the new kit instructions rather than assuming a second system can be stacked onto the first. The product pages cited here describe applications from a known factory configuration; they are not evidence that mixed aftermarket components will work together.
Wheel diameter and offset change the tire answer
On the 3.5-inch system, Rough Country publishes 35×12.50R18 on an 18×9 -12 wheel and 35×12.50R20 on a 20×9 -12 wheel without a trimming note, plus a factory-20 example at 295/60R20. The 6-inch system requires 20-inch or larger aftermarket wheels and publishes 37×12.50R20 combinations; +18 offset is listed without trimming while 0 or +1 offset versions can require minor trimming.
This is a good example of why the tire goal needs the exact wheel specification beside it.
Do not treat TRD Pro as a normal Tundra with a different badge
Rough Country states that TRD Pro carries a factory lift, and both cited Rough Country systems exclude it. BDS also excludes TRD Pro from the cited 2-inch kit. Use a TRD-Pro-specific product if the manufacturer publishes one; do not subtract the factory lift from a standard kit and assume the geometry works.
