Keep 2010–2024 and 2025–2026 in separate product families
The long-running 2010–2024 4Runner has a mature lift-kit ecosystem, but the 2025 redesign uses different applications and factory-suspension setups. We therefore keep those generations separate rather than extending an older fit range into the new truck.
For 2010–2024, current Rough Country systems include 2- and 3-inch options across much of the generation plus a 4.5-inch 2015–2020 application. For 2025–2026, Rough Country has a distinct 3.5-inch system with its own trim exclusions.

KDSS and X-REAS are not minor trim labels
Rough Country’s current 3-inch 2010–2024 system explicitly excludes X-REAS and KDSS because those factory systems change suspension hardware and behavior. It also excludes TRD Pro. A standard 4Runner application should not be assumed to fit one of those configurations just because the model year matches.
The same product page says TRD models require an additional part to retain the factory skid plate, showing that “fits TRD” and “all factory hardware remains unchanged” are different questions.
The 2025+ generation introduces a different set of exclusions
Rough Country’s current 3.5-inch 2025–2026 system excludes TRD Off-Road, AVS, Trailhunter and TRD Pro. Trailhunter is called out because of its Old Man Emu suspension, while TRD Pro uses TRD-tuned FOX suspension.
That makes the new-generation trim check even more important: the correct answer depends on the actual factory suspension, not just the badge hierarchy.
Wheel and tire evidence changes with the exact system
For the 2010–2024 Rough Country 3-inch system, the manufacturer lists 285/70R17 on a factory 17-inch wheel without a trimming note, while 33×12.50R17 on a 17×9 -12 wheel is marked as requiring trimming. The 2025–2026 3.5-inch page publishes 33×12.50R17 on a 17×8.5 wheel at 0 or +1 offset without a trimming note.
Those are useful exact examples, but they should not be merged into a generic 4Runner tire chart across generations.
